Air Canada’s Airbus A321 XLR has arrived at Berlin Brandenburg Airport on the Montréal route, marking an important long-haul milestone for BER.

According to Berlin Brandenburg Airport, the aircraft landed at BER from Montréal for the first time on Sunday, 19 July 2026. The airport describes the arrival as the first scheduled use of this new long-haul narrow-body aircraft on a long-haul route to Germany.

Air Canada uses A321 XLR on BER–Montréal route

The Airbus A321 XLR is now being used by Air Canada on the direct connection between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Montréal. The aircraft type is designed for longer routes while operating with a narrower cabin layout than traditional wide-body long-haul aircraft.

Air Canada’s A321 XLR has 182 seats in total: 14 in Business Class and 168 in Economy Class. Business Class seats can recline into a flat bed and are arranged to provide more privacy and direct aisle access.

BER–Montréal flight schedule

The BER–Montréal route is scheduled three times per week. Departures from Berlin are planned on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 11:50, with arrival in Montréal at 14:30 local time.

Return flights from Montréal are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 20:30, arriving at BER at 10:15 the following day.
