Privacy policy

How we handle your data when you book an airport transfer from BER Brandenburg or get in touch — as required by Articles 13 and 14 GDPR.

1. Controller

Airport Transfer Berlin, Warschauer Platz 11-13, 10245 Berlin, Germany. Phone and WhatsApp: +49 177 4212092. Email: info@airporttransferberlin.com.

We are not required to appoint a data protection officer under Article 37 GDPR.

2. What we process

A booking needs only the data required to run the ride:

  • Passenger first and last name
  • Email address and phone number, for the confirmation and for reaching you on the travel day
  • Pickup and drop-off address, date and time
  • Flight number, if given — so we can track delays
  • Number of passengers, luggage and requests such as a child seat
  • Server logs: IP address, time, address requested, browser identification

3. Legal bases

Booking data is processed to perform the transfer contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Server logs and abuse prevention rest on our legitimate interest in running the site securely, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Commercial and tax retention follows Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

4. Google Maps and Google Places

The address field in the booking form and the map on the site use services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

What you type in the address field is sent to the Google Places API through our own server, so your IP address is not passed to Google. Loading the map is different: your browser connects to Google directly and your IP address is transmitted. The map loads only after you press “Show map”, so nothing reaches Google unless you ask for it.

Google may transfer data to the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in accurate address capture, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Hosting and server logs

The website and the booking database run on a server in a data centre in Germany. Server logs are used only to find faults and block attacks, and are deleted shortly afterwards.

6. Email and WhatsApp

Email is handled by our own mail server on airporttransferberlin.com.

If you write to us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp Ireland Limited processes your phone number and the message content under Meta’s own terms. Please use email or a phone call for anything confidential.

7. Who receives your data

The driver or the partner company performing your ride receives your name, phone number, pickup and drop-off address and flight number — the transfer is impossible without them. There are no other recipients: we do not sell data and run no advertising networks.

8. How long we keep it

Booking data is kept for the duration of the business relationship and afterwards under the commercial and tax retention periods of section 257 HGB and section 147 AO. Enquiries that lead to no booking are deleted once they are settled.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). A message to us is enough.

You may also complain to the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.

10. No tracking

We use no analytics, advertising or tracking services and build no profiles. That is also why this site has no cookie banner. The cookie policy has the details.
