BER Airport pick-up areas depend on who is collecting you and how you plan to leave the airport. A private car, taxi, shuttle bus, rental car and private transfer do not all use the same process. Choosing the wrong area can waste time, especially after baggage claim or during busy arrival periods.

Which BER pick-up area should you use?

The correct pick-up area depends on the type of ride. A friend or family member normally uses Kiss & Fly or short-stay parking. A taxi passenger follows taxi signs. Before leaving the arrivals hall, decide which option you are using. The airport road system is easier when the passenger and driver agree on the same area in advance.

Kiss & Fly pick-up

Kiss & Fly is the quick pick-up and drop-off option for private cars. It is designed for short stops directly near Terminals 1 and 2. The first 10 minutes are intended for quick movement when the passenger is ready.

For arrivals, Kiss & Fly works best when the passenger has already collected baggage, passed customs and is close to the exit. The driver should not enter too early, because the short free period can disappear quickly.

Short-stay parking for pick-up

Short-stay parking is useful when the driver needs more time than a quick curbside stop. It can be better for families, older passengers, travellers with several bags or situations where the driver wants to meet the passenger near the terminal.

Short-stay areas use automatic license plate recognition, so drivers should understand that entry and exit are recorded through the vehicle plate process rather than a simple paper-ticket habit.

Taxi pick-up area

The official taxi pick-up area for arriving passengers is at the taxi ranks in front of Terminal 1 on Level E0. Passengers arriving at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 use the Terminal 1 taxi rank system.

A taxi rank is useful when you want a licensed taxi after arrival and do not have a private driver or pre-booked transfer. Do not confuse the taxi rank with Ride App Pick Up or Kiss & Fly.

Ride App Pick Up

Ride App Pick Up is the area for app-based ride services. It is connected with the arrivals level E0 in front of Terminal 1.

If you use a ride app, follow the live app instructions and vehicle details. Do not go to the taxi rank unless you want a standard taxi, and do not ask a private driver to use the ride app area unless that is part of the official process.

Shuttle bus pick-up

Hotel shuttles, parking shuttles, intercity coaches, event shuttles and tour buses may use Bus stop B or another confirmed bus meeting point. These services are not the same as Kiss & Fly or taxi pickup.

Passengers should follow the shuttle provider’s confirmation and airport signs. If the shuttle has a fixed departure time, include baggage claim, passport control and walking time before expecting to board.

Pick-up from Terminal 1

Terminal 1 is the main reference point for many BER pick-up areas. Taxi ranks, ride app pickup and several parking or short-stay routes are connected with the Terminal 1 forecourt and arrivals level.

Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 should complete the airport process before moving outside: passport control if required, baggage claim, customs and then the correct pick-up area.
